. Hotel Posada de Don Manuel Ta, named for the father of the owner, is a small modern hotel. There are only eight rooms all with a private bath and hot water. The best beach in San Pedro, which all the locals use, is just a five minute walk through corn and bean fields from the hotel. The owner also operates a restaurant, El Fondadero, in sight of the main dock to/from Panajachel, where a ride to the hotel can be arranged for people arriving with luggage.
. I shot these photos during an unusual rainy season (where it rained during the day too) but even when it rains it is warm and the clouds around the mountains are especially lovely. The clouds are constantly changing so there is always interest.

Manuel Chavajay runs Hotel Posada de Don Manuel Ta, named for his father. He is usually at the hotel early in the day but can be found at the El Fondodero Restaurant most of the rest of the day.
